Client Development Manager
Fort Lauderdale - FL
Cleveland Construction is seeking a Client Development Manager to support to growth within the Fort Lauderdale, FL and surrounding region. The Business Development Manager will have experience selling services within the Construction Industry and will be eager to learn how to sell our unique services. The position will report to the Director of Business Development in Mentor, OH and will support our overall growth goals in the Charlotte, NC region. The candidate will be able to quickly learn our portfolio, understand our target markets and develop relationships with potential clients. This individual will be able to travel as required to meet with potential clients and will have the ability to work with our Construction Managers, Estimators, Marketers and Executives to win new clients. Presentation skills will be essential and an understanding of how to best leverage programs, such as Power Point and Prezi, in a presentation is essential.

Job Responsibilities:
• Place calls to prospective clients and maintain a database of information related to prospecting
• Maintain Customer Relationship Management system
• Preparation of reports, analyzing data, and identifying opportunities
• Research trade publications, identify trends and potential new business opportunities
• Attend trade conferences and industry networking events
• Develop and maintain relationships with potential clients, architects, engineers, etc.
• Regular travel within +/-250 miles of Charlotte, NC

• Ability to work cross functionally with departments and team members
• Analytical capacity to research a variety of sources to capture competitive information
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to network and develop strong relationships with individuals
• Understanding of construction industry, project delivery methods, project structures, etc.

Computer / Technology:
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
• Database management with prior experience working in a CRM (Salesforce)
• Construction Report Services such as Dodge, Construction Points, CDC, etc.
• Aptitude in learning new computer systems

Education / Experience:
• A four (4) year degree in Construction Management/Engineering, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Marketing, Communication or related field
• 5+ years of experience working in the construction industry including construction manager, general contractor, architect, engineer, or related fields associated with the construction industry
• Experience working in a business environment and outside sales
• Willingness to learn and grow within the role, company and industry

Physical Demands / Working Conditions:
• Sitting for long periods of time
• Completing tasks using a computer and other office equipment
• Position requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with occasional standing, walking and reaching
• May require lifting up to 10 lbs.
• Job position responsibilities are performed in a business office environment with computers, printers and phones
• Arrange for own means of transportation (airfare, vehicle allowance, fuel reimbursement and/or mileage reimbursement will be part of compensation package) allowing for regular travel within +/-250 miles of Charlotte, NC
